The management of Lagos State University (LASU) has officially announced the schedule for its forthcoming combined convocation ceremonies for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions.
The Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel A. Fanu, released a statement detailing the programme of events. According to the statement, the convocation ceremony is scheduled to be held from Wednesday, August 12 to Sunday, August 23, 2026, comprising numerous activities across the Ojo and Epe campuses.
The ceremony will commence on August 12 with a convocation press conference and staff sports competition, with the Staff Celebration Day on August 13. The Coconut Breaking and Jumat Service are scheduled for August 14.
The conferment of degrees will begin at the Epe Campus on August 17 with faculties such as Engineering and Agricultural Sciences, while other degree awards will take place at the main Ojo campus on August 18. The ceremony for Doctorate and Honorary Degrees is slated for August 19, with a Thanksgiving Service bringing the events to a close on August 23.
In her message, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, congratulated all graduands and emphasized the importance of adhering to convocation guidelines, including punctuality, proper dressing, and compliance with conduct regulations.
The management also stressed that academic gowns must be returned by Friday, August 21, 2026, as a daily penalty of ₦1,000 will apply for late returns, while replacement fees will be charged for lost or damaged gowns.
LASU management also urged parents, guardians, and invited guests to prioritize punctuality and maintain decorum throughout the ceremonies.
