Nigerian footballer and Lagos State University (LASU) graduate Kehinde Ozein Hamzat has joined Turkish club Fişekspor ahead of the new football season.
The Istanbul-based club announced Hamzat’s arrival on its official social media platform, welcoming the Nigerian winger and expressing confidence in what he can bring to the team.
Fişekspor described Hamzat as a player whose talent, energy and fighting spirit could add value to the squad as the club prepares for the new campaign.
The move marks another step in Hamzat’s football journey, which began with grassroots football before progressing to the university level.
Hamzat, who graduated from LASU in 2026 with a degree in Human Kinetics, Sports and Health Education, represented the university’s male football team, the Trail Blazers, during his time as a student.
Before securing the opportunity in Turkey, the winger also featured for several grassroots football teams in Lagos and surrounding areas, gradually building his experience and developing his career.
His move to Fişekspor represents a new phase in that journey, as he now takes his football career beyond Nigeria and into a different competitive environment.
With the new season approaching, Hamzat will be expected to adapt to his new surroundings, integrate into the squad and compete for playing opportunities as he seeks to establish himself at the Turkish club.
For LASU, Hamzat’s move adds to the stories of students and graduates who have continued to pursue opportunities in their chosen fields beyond the university.
From grassroots football to representing the LASU Trail Blazers, and now taking his career to Turkey, Hamzat’s journey highlights one of the pathways through which university football can serve as a springboard for young athletes.
As he begins this new chapter with Fişekspor, the LASU graduate will be hoping to translate the opportunity into a successful professional career.
