BLUE ORIGIN PROJECT SET TO UNVEIL “X Factor” AT LASU

The Communication Students’ Association (COSA), under the leadership of its President, Comr. Sewanu Sutton, is set to host a major convergence of creatives as the Blue Origin Project presents “X Factor”, an inaugural campus event designed to empower and spotlight student creatives at the Lagos State University.

The event is scheduled to be held tomorrow, Wednesday, April 22, 2026, by 9:00 a.m. at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, LASU Main Campus, Ojo. According to the organisers, the X Factor is a platform created to bring together creatives across various fields including writing, visual arts, fashion, music, choreography, content creation, and digital media. The initiative aims to equip students with practical knowledge and exposure needed to begin and sustain their creative journeys even before leaving the university.

Speaking on the vision behind the project, the convener and President of COSA, Sutton, described the Blue Origin Project as an initiative targeted at building Nigeria’s biggest campus creative platform. He noted that the X Factor represents a gathering point for creatives from graphic designers and voice-over artists to filmmakers, public speakers, illustrators, and scriptwriters.

The event will feature six keynote speakers and six panelists, alongside engaging segments such as live performances, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities. Attendees are also expected to enjoy added experiences including entertainment, refreshments, and creative showcases.

The convener also emphasised that the programme is not just an event but a blueprint for growth, aimed at preparing students for the realities of the creative industry while fostering innovation and collaboration within the campus space.

Additionally, an exciting lineup of notable speakers and creatives is expected to grace the event, adding depth and credibility to the initiative. Among them is Becky Joe, CEO of TBO Media Group, Salem King, popularly known as “The Creator’s Creator”, and Chude Jideonwo, CEO of RED Media, known for his influence in media and storytelling. Also on the list is Bukola Aladesulu, a digital inclusion and youth development advocate, and Olubori Paul, a finance coach and entrepreneurship expert.

Other featured personalities include multimedia journalist Chika, known for translating complex socio-political issues into engaging conversations across radio and television platforms, and Victoria Chiamaka Nkoro (Toria), a writer and brand strategist recognised for her work in storytelling and digital content development.

The event will also host Hamzat Ameenat Aderayo, a voice artist, public speaker, and campus media leader known for her contributions to journalism and youth development, Tella Omojolade (King of Numbers), a creative performer and storyteller exploring culture and identity, and Tiwistar, a spoken word artist celebrated for his impactful and socially conscious poetry.
