The Lagos State University Students’ Union (LASUSU), has witnessed a new dawn with the inauguration of the 36th administration on Monday, October 13, 2025, at the Buba Marwa Auditorium.
The significant and historical event marked the close of the chapter of the 35th-Joldie-led-administration, and ushered in Comrade Adebayo Peter Akorede as the leader of the 36th LASUSU administration.

The annual ceremony had in attendance distinguished individuals including the university management, staff, and students.
Discharging her ceremonial duty, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, praised the outgoing executives for their commitment, urging the new leaders to prioritize integrity and discipline in their administration, while emphasizing the importance of outdoing their predecessors.
In order to be a force to reckon with, the 36th LASUSU administration must not just strive to discharge their duties, but ensure to create an indelible mark that will outlive their administration. Just as the previous administration in their own right, attained some level of success, it is only natural that the new administration build on the legacies of their predecessors by prioritizing student welfare, fostering transparent communication, and promoting unity across the campus.
Upon attending the swearing-in ceremony, taking the oath of office, and receiving certificates, it is important that the new administration note that the trust of the entire student populace now relies on them, and a strong responsibility to shoulder and cater for the needs of these students has officially begun. We are strongly rooting for the 36th administration, and we are with but one message, which is- be the mark!
