Hult Prize Nigeria held its National stage Competition at the University of Lagos on the 3rd of May, 2025.
The event, themed “Unlimited,” featured 41 teams at the national level, they were evaluated by a panel of judges, who selected the top three teams with innovative ideas focused on providing solutions to pressing global challenges aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with the winning team selected to participate at the Global Round.
Team Zero Zone emerged as the winner, with Team Nurrad as the first runner-up and Team Posh-fill as the second runner-up among the teams that reached the finals.
As the winning team, Team Zero Zone will participate in an intensive six-week Digital Incubator program alongside top student entrepreneurs from around the world, gaining mentorship, funding opportunities, and global exposure before the final showdown in London.
The team leader, Divine Afam, said winning the Hult Prize Nigeria is a dream come true. He added that the validation fuels their mission to revolutionize agriculture in Africa.
“We’re excited to scale our impact and represent Nigeria on the global stage. This award is not ours alone; it’s for every Nigerian who struggles to access healthcare. We’re building a future where no one has to choose between medicine and meals,” he asserted.
The competition was hosted by Victor Praise, a legal practitioner and venture capitalist, who energized the audience with his dynamic storytelling.
A keynote address titled “After the Hult Prize: Developing Your Biggest Project” was delivered by Ezenwere Collins, the Co-founder of JENZ. He urged the entrepreneurs to shift their focus from fixating on what they lack to dedicating themselves to growth and self-improvement.
“When you become the kind of founder who is prepared for success, funding and opportunities naturally follow”. He said.
The aim of the Hult Prize Competition is to bring together Nigeria’s most visionary student founders, investors, and ecosystem leaders for a day of high-energy pitches, strategic networking, and transformative discussions. The event amplified the growing influence of youth-led innovation in shaping Africa’s future.
