PSYCHNOVATION SET TO LAUNCH PHYSICALLY AND HOST IMPACT MAKING EVENT ON CAMPUS

Psychnovation, A new student-led initiative, will officially launch at Lagos State University on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Aderemi Makanjuola Lecture Theatre. The event is themed: From Ideas to Impact: Youth, Innovation and The Future of Learning and will start by 10:00 AM.

The event would feature Ridwan Gboyega Abdulkareem as the speaker, alongside four panelists: Toluwalase Adekoya (a Clinical Psychologist, Researcher and lecturer in the department of psychology), Zainab Aderounmu (a Communication Expert, Corporate Master of Ceremonies and a Broadcast Journalist), Qudus Shodunke (Founder and Creative Lead of Tech Studios) and Ibrahim Salami (Founder and Director of Haute institute of technology and Co-convener of Muslim Tech Expo).

Psychnovation led by GenZ, female organization aims to help students learn beyond the classroom. It connects schoolwork with real-life skills by focusing on areas like psychology, tech, communication, public health, and more.

Even though this is its first physical launch at LASU, the group has already reached hundreds of students globally through online internships, summer bootcamps, and mental health webinars. Many students have worked on real projects about feminism, education, and AI, and also received mentorship and support.

The launch event will feature speeches from the co-founders, a panel with professionals, and a networking session for students to meet mentors, guests, and sponsors.

Psychnovation will also introduce some of its upcoming programs, such as:

~A 6-week research and tech program for undergraduates

~A Wealth Convention in November 2025 on finance and digital skills

~A Summer Research Bootcamp in 2026

~Plans for an online learning hub, global research conference, mentorship, and mental health campaigns

The initiative aims at giving students hands-on experience, helps them grow their ideas, and connects them with experts. It also welcomes mentors and sponsors who want to support young people making a difference.

The event is open to all LASU students and invited guests.
