FCMS WINS FRESHER’S INTER-FACULTY DEBATE

The Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, FCMS, of Lagos State University, LASU, won the Fresher’s Inter-faculty debate on the 14th of January, 2025, at the Femi Gbajabiamila Hall.

The debate, which is done in every session from the office of the Vice President of the Lagos State University Students Union, LASUSU, to promote public speaking amongst the student populace, commenced on the 7th of January 2025, including participants from all faculties on the Ojo campus.

Preliminary student representatives from all faculties in the campus which include the faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Education, Social Sciences, Law, Art, Science, Management Science, and Transport, all participated in the Preliminary stage of the debate. However, all faculties except the faculty of Social Sciences, Science, Communication, and Law were disqualified for the finals. Each of these faculties came 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions, respectively.

The Faculty of Communication representatives, Biridi Precious and Udukuba Edith, under the supervision of the 19th COSA-LASU Vice President, Akerele Azeez, overtook the other faculties in the final round on Tuesday, 14th of January 2025, by coming up as the winner. The faculty of Social Sciences, Science, and Law took 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions, respectively.
