“NEVER LET A FOOL SHAME YOU FOR BEING WISE ” — GAISE BABA CHALLENGES YOUTH AT POSSIBILITY CONFERENCE 2025

The Young Disciples International (YDI), in collaboration with the Centre for the Actualization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN-SDGs LASU), held an event themed “Possibility Conference 2025” at Buba Maruwa Auditorium, Lagos State University, Ojo, on the 28th of May 2025.

The event featured keynote speakers like Joe Jesimiel Ogbe, the founder of Young Disciples International; Senator Bode Olajumoke, Chairman of the YDI Board of Trustees; Professor Tayo Ajayi, Director of the Centre for Actualization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, LASU; Dr. Precious Uwagbai, Youth Coordinator of Young Disciples International; and Akinade Ibuoye, also known as Gaise Baba, as the guest speaker.

The event aimed at providing students with pathways to academic success, helping them discover how they can be the next big innovators, encouraging them to become solution providers, helping to ignite passion for possibilities, and shifting students’ mentality toward growth and impact.

The introductions were made about YDI and SDGs before a welcome address by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor. Keynote speeches were delivered, followed by icebreaker games and variety segments like saxophone and dance presentations. Speakers addressed themes such as “Emergence of Solution Providers,” “Possibility Mentality,” “Pathways to Academic Success,” and “Passion for Possibilities.”

The event also included an interview, musical ministration, and prophetic declarations by Gaise Baba. This was also with networking, refreshments, and group photography.

Gaise Baba shared his story through an interview with the founder of YDI, Joe Jesimiel Ogbe. He inspired the audience through both words and music. He is a musician and graduate of Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University, he also emphasized the importance of attending classes, stating,

“I never missed classes”, encouraging students to seek mentorship and never let others intimidate them into silence, saying, “Never make a loud fool make you shy for being wise.” He ministered three of his songs—“Follow Follow,” “Elijah Level,” and “No Turning Back” and performed a powerful spoken word piece centered on the importance of sexual purity in both males and females.

Gaise Baba, while reflecting on his story, highlighted the importance of education by saying:

“Education makes you a better anything, a better plumber, anything at all, name it.”
