HULT PRIZE NIGERIA SET TO HOLD 2025 NATIONAL QUALIFIERS AT UNILAG

Hult Prize Nigeria has officially announced the 2025 National Qualifiers, set to take place on May 3rd, 2025 at the University of Lagos during a virtual Press Conference on Monday 21st, 2025.

The competition is set to host innovators from 46 Universities in Nigeria, bringing the Organization closer to discovering the Nigeria’s representative at the Hult Prize Global Accelerator, where the winning team will contest for the $1 million prize.

The event themed “UNLIMITED” will bring together student entrepreneurs, industry leaders, venture capitalist, Innovation-driven stakeholders and panel of judges to evaluate the teams pitches.

Notable judges include Olubunmi Sobande (Chief Finance Officer, VURIN Group), Ifeoma Nwogbu (Co founder, Sendstack), and Professor Oludiran Akinleye, Head of Department of Economics, University of Lagos.

This year’s challenge has already seen over 200+ student startups pitch innovative solutions at local level competition held between October 2024 and February 2025 fostering a vibrant ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship.

After rigorous pitching session, mentorship and evaluation by esteemed judges, the most exceptional team emerged victorious and are now headed for the National stage.

The local competition journey has not only highlighted the incredible talent and dedication of Nigeria’s youth but also reinforce the growing impact of Hult Prize in nurturing the next generation of socially conscious entrepreneurs.

Some of the teams who participated at the local competition include Agro Connect, Value Cycle, Team Aqua, Versatile Energy and Career Nest, among others.

The Hult Prize Nigeria led by Olamide Otasanya with support from Deputy Director, Qudirat Salisu and a dedicated committee members serves as a National arm of the Hult Prize Global Competition, coordinating winning team from 46 tertiary institutions across Nogeria.

The Hult Prize Foundation is a year long competition that embodies social entrepreneurship and youth empowerment shaping the trajectory of the 21st century initiative with a global footprint spanning over 120+ countries and engaging over million students worldwide. It has pioneered events, programs and training to foster entrepreneurial action towards building a better world.

“The global final is set to take place at mermaid Hall, in London”, said Otansanya the national coordinating head.
