LASU wins 1.5 million naira in LTB debates 2025

Obadimeji David, a 400 Level student of Lagos State University’s faculty of sciences, department of computer science and a member of the Lagos State University Debate Society (LSUDS) has emerged as the Overall Champion of the prestigious Legal Tech Bro Debates 2025.

The competition, hosted by Legal Tech Bro at Civic Hive in Yaba on March 27, 2025, culminated in an exciting finale. The contest consisted of five rounds: two preliminary rounds, a quarterfinal, a semifinal, and the final round. Notably, all rounds except the final were conducted on Twitter space.

The preliminary round began on the 22nd of February featuring twenty debators. The competition took place every Saturday for over 4 weeks. The focus of the competition was on social media and its impact on our lives. Themed “Our lives and social media”

Participants progressed through multiple stages, beginning with virtual elimination rounds and essay submissions, followed by quarterfinals and semifinals, before culminating in the grand finals.

Obadimeji distinguished himself through exceptional oratory skills, profound analytical ability, and compelling argumentation, ultimately emerging victorious from a highly competitive field. As champion, he received 1.5 million naira prize.

This outstanding achievement serves as a testament to Orator obadimeji’s intellectual prowess and dedication, while simultaneously showcasing the exceptional standard of debate excellence cultivated by the Lagos State University Debate Society.
